Recently I called up my friend, CCA alumni, Jose Moreno to propose an unique idea- to create a one of a kind sketchbook, and have each page filled out by a different artist.  It had been done before by other artists.  Most notably the Sketchtravel project, started by Dice Tsustumi and many illustrators and animators was created for the purpose of creating a collective of art and raising money for charity.  I loved the idea of handing the book in person, passing down artist to artist, a way keep in touch with fellow illustrators, old friends, and possibly make some new ones.

As you can see, Jose created a beautiful book using arches watercolor paper, end papers, a silky smooth cloth finished cover, and probably some magic as well. He also sells his one of a kind books at APE every October, and I’m sure he takes commissions online.

I’m pretty excited to hand it off to someone else and see where it goes, who knows where it’ll end up?
